There will be no Weston News in the months of April, May, June and July (and possibly longer). This is because of the potential health risks in the production and distribution of the magazine. But we are having a slimmed down online version!

The Weston News AGM will be a virtual meeting on Monday 22nd June at 10:30am. All residents of Weston-under-Penyard and Hope Mansell parishes are welcome to attend. Please email for a zoom invitation.

Welcome to the Weston News website. We are an independent magazine, run by volunteers, designed to keep the Parishes of Weston-under-Penyard and Hope Mansell informed of local events, services and news. Its distribution covers Ryeford, Pontshill, Bill Mills, Bailey Lane End, Dancing Green and part of Bromsash, as well as Weston and Hope Mansell villages. We aim to let the residents know what is happening in the area; to report on events that have taken place; and to spread the word about charitable functions, and local charities. Whether you are a local resident or simply interested in the area we hope you will enjoy browsing our site.

Coronavirus: Following the directive of the Archbishop of Canterbury, there will be no Sunday church services in St Michael Church, Hope Mansell. The directive indicates however Wedding and Funeral Services can be conducted during this time.
Also, the church will be locked throughout the day, but the churchyard is still open. We will continue to cut the grass although our planned Spring tidy up will not now take place.
When the current situation ceases and it is safe to do so, our normal life will resume.

Please note that, in accordance with Government guidelines, the playground and equipment at Weston Village Hall are not to be used until further notice.

In addition, the Village Hall Trustees would like to remind all residents that dogs are not allowed on the playing field. The field is available for people to take their daily exercise, ensuring that they strictly follow the social distancing guidelines. The Trustees thank everyone for their cooperation during this challenging period.
